MAGNA LEADS DRIVERS IN THE RIGHT DIRECTION WITH NAVIMIRROR

 LAS VEGAS, January 7, 2008 – Magna Donnelly, an operating unit of automotive supplier Magna International Inc., today presented its NaviMirror™ product at the 2008 International Consumer Electronics Show. NaviMirror, a navigation system integrated with a vehicle’s rear-view mirror, is part of the Total BlindZoneManagement™ (TBZM™) product line from Magna Donnelly, which makes driving safer and more convenient by assisting drivers and reducing vehicle blind zones. 

NaviMirror provides drivers with a safer and more convenient way to read and process navigation-system information. By displaying system info in a “heads up” position, driver distraction is reduced and a driver’s eyes can remain focused on the road. NaviMirror includes all of the features of Magna Donnelly’s VideoMirror, in addition to improving comfort and convenience by offering low-cost navigation and telematics within a vehicle. It is a fully plug and play solution and also makes an ideal location for hands-free communication, audio and video.

The product uses a dedicated, 3.5-inch touchscreen display in the rearview mirror to access directional and telecommunication information in a heads-up position. As reported by auto industry trade journal Ward’s AutoWorld, “Placement of the display on…the mirror is ideally located so as not to obstruct the driver’s forward view.”
